We
regret to announce the sad demise of Ms. Sudha Kini (84),
Alumna, XIC - PR '80, who passed away today (October 5,
2010) after a long illness. May her soul rest in peace.
Sudha Kini was continuously and actively
involved with organizations particularly in the area of
promotion of adoption in India. She was the Project Director
of the Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption and
Child Welfare (IAPA). She was also the chairperson of
Dilkhush Welfare Society, which set up the Sanjan Home on
the Maharashtra - Gujarat border. It is here that mentally
challenged adults receive lifelong care.
We were happy to meet her in November
2004, when she organized a lecture demonstration for
students of XIC in Social Marketing Strategies for Adoption,
and in happier times last year she participated in the 40th
year XIC celebrations - 2009.
After completing her PR course at XIC,
Ms. Kini worked as Senior Social Work Executive in the
Headquarters at Voltas Ltd., and later at Glaxo India.
On behalf of XIC, we extend our sincere
condolences and prayers to members of her family.
With deepest sympathy
