Deepak Parvatiyar
received the film award for his documentary on a
blind acupuncturist - The Wizard of Needles - an
inspiring tale of a blind person, who fought his
disabilities to become an acupuncturist. The
award was presented by Mrs. Poonam Natarajan,
Chairperson, National Trust - a Statutory Body
under the Ministry of Social Justice &
Empowerment, Govt. of India, in New Delhi on May
4, 2011, at the film festival which was
co-hosted by United Nations Information Centre,
India & Bhutan, UNESCO, National Trust, Asian
Academy of Film and Television under the aegis
of Brotherhood. |
