The knowledge gained at XIC is simply priceless. XIC introduced me to the best of Faculty.
- Revati Rao (ADMA)

XIC has indeed been a crossroad in my life, that was mere than just a good decision. The value, the adrenaline, the creativity imparted was truly one of the many `cocktails’ in life. XIC is truly a brand that lives up to its promise. They say home is where the heart is…. I’m leaving mine behind. A.D.M.A ROCKS.
- Clayton Gomes (ADMA)

XIC to me has truly been a great learning experience. The opportunity to work with such great talent is something I shall cherish for the rest of my life.
- Sharmista Nagarkatti (ADMA)

XIC (ADMA) was a great learning experience. At the age of 27 years, I was initially worried if taking the course was the right thing to do. Today, I am glad I did. The ADMA course, gave me a clear picture of the media jungle. Today, I am very clear about my career path and ultimate goal. Now, its just a matter of working hard towards that goal. The best part of XIC-ADMA was the faculty.
- Aakshaya Nori (ADMA)

This was one of the quickest years that passed in my life and I wish I can have it again. XIC met with my expectations in terms of the non-academic teaching. This was one place where I saw my dream to join the media world taking shape. The world that I was going to enter after the course was mad and XIC helped me become a member of it. It trained me to become Mad.
- Nikita Tambay (ADMA)

I don’t know why but I came here like a clay ready to be moulded into something that will withstand the test of time, I firmly believe the course did this to me. Thanks XIC, it will be ….always be … the best days of my life.
- Saket Rao (ADMA)

I enjoyed the ADMA course, and have learnt a great deal in the past nine months. I’m, grateful for the high quality of faculty that we have been privileged to have.
- Binita Kuruvilla (ADMA)

Coming to Mumbai, being a part of XIC has redefined my life. The ADMA course has brought me in contact with different individuals holding differing perspective understanding these differences and embracing individuals for all that they are is one of the most important lessons XIC has taught me. The course has met its academic objective quite well and I’m very satisfied with the professional awareness it has opened out for me. Thank you for this opportunity

JOURNALISM (JR) STUDENTS' COMMENT 05-06

The year 2005-06 was one of the best years of my life. During the course of the year, I have learnt certain things, that I want to keep in mind throughout my life. I learnt the true meaning of honesty, punctuality, seriousness of purpose, commitment, teamwork, an eye for detail. I also learned to double check my work before submission and to use words judiciously. I realized the importance of reading and to be informed. The course at XIC taught me to face failures and learn from them. It also taught me to always be on my toes and never loose hope. At XIC, I came to know what excellence in work is…
- Noorjahan Momin (JR – 05-06)

XIC has been an intense learning experience. Through this course I have not only realized what I can do well, but also my weak areas have been highlighted…
- Sameera Khan (JR 05-06)

Coming to XIC has definitely been a turning point in my life. At the end of ten months, studying here is worth the experience even if it meant that I had to stay away from my family who lives in another corner of the country (Darjeeling). I have learnt the value of time. I have also learnt to be alert, be a voracious reader in order to excel in this field.
- Nayantara Som (JR 05-06)

My XIC experience has been overwhelming both intellectually and physically. Initially I resented that I was being pushed so hard, but I eventually warmed up to the rigorous pace of work. I now realise that every moment was fruitful, even if it was spent redoing an assignment for the nth time…
- Pooja Pillai (JR 05-06)

The nine months here at XIC has not only taught me to be credible to my work but also that without principles and discipline there is no success anywhere. I hope I make myself and XIC proud in the years to come. I would always be great full for this opportunity called ‘XIC’ that came my way…
- Ankhi Dasgupta (JR 05-06)

XIC gave me much more than I expected from it. Most importantly, it has taught me the
significance of “DEADLINES” in the Journalism field…
- Neha Kalra (JR 05-06)

The importance of credibility is one thing that keeps coming back to me while doing anything. XIC does help in turning potential into achievement, provided one is really committed…
- Shefali Martins (JR 05-06)

“Intense” is one of the many words that comes to mind when I look back at 05-06. I cannot think of adjectives enough to describe XIC. I will say though that the time and learning here is priceless. I enjoyed the pace, the challenges, the projects and the continuous emphasis on Professionalism, Ethics and Discipline. The importance to the attention to detail is one of the many things I take with me. I truly learnt and grew professionally and personally and I will be forever thankful for this amazing nine months…
- Nisha Samson (JR 05-06)

I have had an amazing learning experience at XIC and will always be grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity of studying here. XIC has taught me to accept my failures and my achievements….
- Anne Marie D’Lima (JR 05-06)

Having come from a media college, I thought I wouldn’t learn much from XIC. But I was proved wrong. There is so much that I have learnt in these few months. Principles such as punctuality, attribution, maintaining deadlines and professional ethics are some of the things I have learnt from a non-academic perspective. Academically too the course has contributed to my knowledge of the media industry and its terminologies…
- Swansy Afonso (JR 05-06)

I think I have matured as a human being after this one year. I am more focused now about what I want to do in life. Another thing that I loved in XIC were the documentaries that were screened. I saw some of the good films here that I would not have otherwise. - Archana Shukla (JR 05 – 06)

XIC has taught me numerous things and the most important one being how to perform well even under pressure. XIC has been the best learning experience of my life!…
- Sagorika Dasgupta (JR 05-06)

I think I am a very small person and can never pay debt to all the teachers who have imparted me knowledge in whatever small way they have. I thank god also for giving me admission in XIC and for his constant influence in my life…
- Rajesh Naidu (JR 05-06)

When I joined this institute, I heaved a sigh of relief. And at the end of the academic year, I am a content man. The one thing that I am taking with me from here and I think shall be of prime importance is one small phrase – “GET REAL”. When things began back in July, the romance of it all fascinated me, thrilled me really? As the onion was peeled further, things stank. Relationships worsened, tempers rose, work suffered. I’ve been cautioned, I’ll take care; things aren’t really what they seem like. I’ve grown up in these 9 months. Journalism was just an excuse…
- Biprorshee Das (JR 05-06)

At the XIC I learned that it actually stands for genuine, professional, honesty and giving your hundred percent. Being married, may be I’ll work after completing this course or may be I won’t may be I’ll be a mother soon and will have to put my career on the back burner for a good while, but the lessons I learnt here, will help me for a long time to come. Because they were not purely academic but personally enhancing as well…
- Kamini Bhagat (JR 05-06)

- Soumyashree Saha

Two words best describe my experience at XIC, excellent & most memorable. Many Institutes have the name but lack good faculty. XIC has both. I wish XIC success and may it see many more glorious years ahead.
- Valeska D’silva

XIC definitely lives up to its mission & vision. Discipline is one thing I’ve learnt from this Institute, be it the attendance, grades etc. And it is a great honour to get outside, to the industry, as an XIC graduate.
- Ancy Thettayil

The course, I think has been truly successful in delivering what it had promised – a 360deg. View of the media. I can now enter the PR industry with a lot of confidence and a rich knowledge on the subject.

I am proud to associate myself with XIC and believe that I have learnt all that I came here to learn and most of what the institute endeavors to teach—ethical conduct, responsibility for one’s actions and commitment towards high standards of excellence I look forward to putting the skills and knowledge I have acquired at XIC to use in the field of mass communications and journalism, and sincerely hope that I will do this institute proud in the future.

Radhina Almeida Coutinha,
JR 05

Over the last ten month at XIC, I have been taught values and lessons that will hold me in good stead for the rest of my life. Writing a good news report or putting together a video or print production are just few of the skills that I will have to keep myself updated with all the time. But the values learnt here I will never need to relearn, being honest and ethical in all my dealings, no matter what the consequences.

Reuben Rato, JR 05

I chose to pursue a postgraduate diploma in journalism from XIC. I made this decision mainly on the basis of the course material and structure, apart from the opportunities it offered and its brand value. I can say with confidence that my knowledge and skills have only been enhanced by leaps and bounds. As my deduction goes, this has been achieved by the module structure of the course, the proficiency of lecturers, their lectures and the rigorous quality and quantity of assignments, which were given in class.

Amrita Bedi, JR 03

Learning at XIC taught me some important lessons in life which helped me grow as a person. It imparted the confidence to always bring out the best in me. Xavier's gives you a strong feeling of belonging that stays in every alumni's heart for a lifetime. The bond with the institution only grows with time. I got more than I have given and I wish I get an opportunity to give back a least a little to this institution as a sheer mark of gratitude. XIC will always be very close to my heart.

I’m glad to be in touch again! I’d love to hear how XIC has evolved over the years. I certainly recall with fondness the time I spent at the institute, and the foundation it laid for my journalistic career.

I am now with CNN International, primarily in the role of a producer.

I produce a daily half-hour current affairs program called Insight — one of the flagship programs on the networks, which go beyond hourly news bulletins. In addition, I occasionally anchor short newscasts. It is a challenging job and full of promise. I hope to be in touch with you when I visit India the next time.

After I finished my journalism at XIC I did my Masters in Social Work at TISS,. Now I plan to do a PHD in “Development Communications” at the University of Southern California. The course gives the student a holistic perspective and it just helps U THINK!-- which is so essential!

I wish the system followed at XIC could be emulated in colleges across the country. It is demanding on the student as well as the teachers. And the best part is that it really makes one think, and think for oneself. I think that is what higher education has to be all about.

Chetna Mahadik, JR 03
