"I have found my true calling in television," says Ashwin Mohan. This
ambitious Keralite from the 2008 batch of Journalism and Mass
Communication, has definitely done XIC proud. Having spent barely
four months as a correspondent at CNBC TV 18, Mumbai, Ashwin
recently bagged the WOW (Wonderful Original Work) award in the "Best
Reporters" category. He received a certificate of excellence from
Udayan Mukherjee, the Managing Editor of the channel. Unlike his
cheerful demeanor, the beats that Ashwin handles at CNBC are dead
serious - Corporate Law and Taxation. His work involves rubbing
shoulders with top lawyers like Ram Jethmalani to head honchos at
PWC and Ernst &Young. Some of Ashwin's big breaks include exclusive
stories on the Ambani brothers tussle and Vijay Mallya's internal
strategies related to Kingfisher. At XIC, Ashwin's favorite subjects
included Critical Appreciation of Art and News Reporting. He was at
his confident best in front of a mike! Fittingly, he has joined an
exciting medium ideally suited to his skill sets. We wish Ashwin
many more journalistic laurels in future. Kudos to him!
