We
deeply condole the tragic and untimely passing away of our
alumnus Rohinton Maloo, a victim in the terror attack at
Trident on 26 Nov 2008.
Rohinton, 48, Managing Director of
Cutting Edge Media had over 25 years of varied experience in
the media and technology marketing. In 1987, Rohinton
co-launched Computerland (later re-named Aptech), which is
South Asia's largest network, IT training institute. Since
1992, he was instrumental in South Asia launch of Asian
Business News (now called CNBC), CNN & Cartoon Network & HBO
for Turner/Time Warner Inc. In 2000, he launched Hallmark
business unit’s card in India. To add to his achievements,
in 2002, he acquired Cutting Edge Media Pvt Ltd. from Zee
Telefilms Ltd and re-launched Zee English & Zee MGM
marketing sales for Zee Telefilms Ltd, and also ZeeNews.com.
In 2007 Rohinton became a Consulting Partner & Strategic
Advisor with Convergent Communications Pvt. Ltd., a leading
provider of mobile solutions in Bangalore.
Rohinton was know for his zest for life,
we at XIC will always remember him as a bright shining star
who won the admiration of all his batch-mates.
On behalf of XIC, we extend our sincere
condolences to his dear Wife, daughters and family. We would
like to assure them that we unite with them in their moment
of profound grief.
